5 Things I’m Loving Right Now

I thought it was about time we had a little catch-up on what’s bringing me joy lately.  I used to write things like this all the time, and to be honest, I have been a bit deflated and not feeling like myself lately. It's a combination of moving 6 hours each way from where I called home for 10 years. It's not knowing anyone here and feeling every isolated, it's made me a bit of a recluse. That, coupled with my injury, I just knuckled down and started to write more business-focused posts. I want to inject more of me back into this. This site started with me trying to find an outlet when I was struggling with severe depression that I just couldn't see the end of. I have always had a passion for beauty, and this was my place to put that, and then I started to add my life, and it became this, and I want to put more of myself back in here. 

So let's talk about the simple things. Here are 5 random things I’m absolutely obsessed with right now:

1. Face Masks
You know I love a good self-care moment, and lately, I’ve been going all in on face masks. I stopped using them for ages, and it was like a realisation that these exist in my head again.  Whether it’s a deep-cleansing clay mask or something hydrating and glowy, it just makes me feel like I have my life together for five minutes. Plus, who doesn’t love feeling like a dewy queen? Why did I stop using these? they just make me happy. Don't get me wrong, I hate when they get on my hair lol. 

2. Yellowstone
Okay, where have I been? I finally jumped on the Yellowstone train, and I am hooked. The drama, the scenery, the cowboys... ahem... It's just so good. I feel like Beth might just the the best character I have ever watched. It took me two seasons to really get it but I am obsessed and gutted we are on the last season now. I have laughed, cried and smiled.   If you haven’t started it yet, honestly, cancel your weekend plans and get stuck in. You won’t regret it, I promise.  Does anyone want to some to Yellowstone with me? 

3. The Sunshine
Simple, but it’s giving me life. There’s just something about waking up to blue skies and feeling that little bit of warmth on your skin that instantly boosts your mood. Catch me chasing every sunny patch like a lizard on a rock. It just makes me feel better, like a new beginning or something. We didn't see it too much in the Highlands, so I do cherish it more than most, I guess.

4. Avocado, Feta, Sundried Tomato and Balsamic
This combo is my current lunch obsession. Smash up some avo, crumble in a bit of feta, throw on some sundried tomatoes, drizzle with balsamic, chef’s kiss. It’s fresh, it’s tangy, it’s addictive. Honestly, I’m considering starting a fan club for this snack. I don't actually like cheese TBH bit I love this combo. When I kike something I get it day in day out. I know I am strange. 

5. Pilates (I’ve only done one class, but still!)
I dipped my toe into Pilates, and why did no one warn me how good it feels?! Even after one class, I could feel muscles I forgot existed. It’s such a nice, gentle way to move your body while feeling strong and stretched. Definitely planning on sticking with it. I have been looking for ages for something to add to my training. I train pretty hard for mountain biking, and I needed something with a bit of strength and stretch and this ticks all the boxes. I am really looking forward to my next class. I haven't really taken classes in years, again, living where I did in the Highlands, this was difficult, so that is the bonus of being down here. I feels good to try new things. 

Yes, this post is random,m but I just wanted to write something on a Friday afternoon. I will try to do one of these little posts once a week or at least once a fortnight.
