An Honest Sol de Janeiro Perfume Mist Review

I have reviewed the famous Bum Bum cream from Sol de Janerio and you know I really liked it so I thought I would try another product from the range. I know everyone was talking about the Perfume mist. So I thought I would grab one of the travel sprays and give it a go.

If, like me, you’re a fan of warm, gourmand scents that instantly transport you to a Brazilian beach, then you'll already know about  Sol de Janeiro’s Cheirosa 62 Perfume Mist but maybe haven't tried it yet. With its iconic mix of salted caramel, pistachio, and vanilla, this fragrance mist has taken the beauty world by storm. But does it live up to the hype? In this honest review, I’ll break down everything from the fragrance notes to longevity, giving you all the details you need before you spritz!

A vibrant yellow bottle of Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa 62 Perfume Mist placed on a rustic wooden surface in a lush garden setting. Soft sunlight filters through green foliage, casting a warm glow on the bottle. Delicate flowers and tropical leaves surround it, enhancing the summery, tropical vibe of the fragrance.

What is Sol de Janeiro?

Sol de Janeiro is a Brazilian-inspired body care and fragrance brand, famous for its Bum Bum Cream and irresistibly sweet, tropical scents. Their Cheirosa fragrance line has gained a cult following, with Cheirosa 62 being one of the most beloved scents. But does this perfume mist live up to its reputation?

Why Choose a Perfume Mist?

A perfume mist is a lighter alternative to an eau de parfum, making it perfect for layering over body lotion or a post-shower body spray. If you love a scent that’s refreshing yet long-lasting, then a fragrance mist might be your ideal choice. Plus, perfume mist is always a more affordable option.

First Impressions

What Does the Packaging Look Like?

The Cheirosa 62 Perfume Mist comes in a sleek, bright yellow bottle that screams summer.  The plastic bottle is sturdy and easy to toss in your bag for on-the-go spritzing. It’s available in 90ml and 240ml sizes, perfect for travel or all-day use.

How Does the Perfume Mist Smell Initially?

From the first spritz, you get an intoxicating hit of salted caramel, pistachio, and vanilla orchid, just like the cream version. For me, it’s an immediate mood booster, like a sweet beach holiday in a bottle. I do love sweet scents.

Longevity and Wearability

How Long Does the Scent Last?

For a body mist, Cheirosa 62 lasts surprisingly well! Expect around 4-6 hours of noticeable scent. If layered with Brazilian Bum Bum Cream, it lasts even longer. I spray it on in the morning and I can still smell it on my skin at night but only lightly. I think around 5 hours is the sweet spot.

Who Will Love This Scent?

  • Fans of warm, sweet, gourmand fragrances.

  • Anyone who adores Baccarat Rouge 540 vibes, but at a more affordable price.

  • People who love body mists that smell like summer.

Is It Suitable for All Ages?

Yes! It’s youthful yet sophisticated, making it great for teens to adults.

Comparison with Other Products

How Does It Compare to Other Sol de Janeiro Scents?

  • Cheirosa 68 - More fruity and floral with hibiscus and pink dragonfruit.

  • Cheirosa 40 - Creamy and cozy, with black amber plum and vanilla woods.

  • Cheirosa 76 - A more beachy coconut scent.

How Does It Stand Against Competitors?

Compared to other sweet fragrances, Cheirosa 62 is more playful and less intense than Baccarat Rouge 540 but stronger and longer-lasting than typical drugstore body sprays. Its the right amount of pay-off for the price point.

Pros and Cons

What Are the Advantages?

✔ Affordable alternative to luxury fragrances. ✔ Long-lasting for a body mist. ✔ Warm, sweet scent that smells delicious. ✔ Beautiful packaging and travel-friendly size options. ✔ Perfect for layering with other Sol de Janeiro products.

Are There Any Drawbacks?

✖ Scent doesn’t last as long as an actual perfume. ✖ Some may find it too sweet. ✖ Not as strong as an eau de parfum, so may need reapplication.

Is It Worth the Price?

For a body perfume mist, this is 100% worth it, especially if you love warm, Brazilian-inspired fragrances. It's like a delicious caramelised vanilla with toasted macadamia scent, and it will transport you to summer and is so moreish. If it was food I'd eat it.

My thoughts

I am one of those people who loves anything super sweet. I am obsessed with vanilla, coconuts, sugared violet and creamy scents. These are my go-tos. I love an elegant fragrance too, but this one is more fun and sweet. I like the travel size it has lasted me so far, around 6 weeks, and I still have some left. I find if you spray it on after you have used your body lotion or bum bum cream you will extend its wear time.

I like that I can spray it on my hair and body. It doesn't weigh your hair down if you do end up spraying it there. I have very fine hair , and it has never given me any issues. I will be repurchasing this, especially for travel. It is just so super handy. I have to say I first saw this launch on TikTok, and I was convinced to try it. does that make this a tiktok made me do it purchase?

Who Should Consider Buying It?

If you love sweet, cozy, long-lasting fragrance mists, this is a must-try!

Final Thoughts and Recommendations

Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa 62 Perfume Mist is a warm, sweet, and irresistible scent that is perfect for daily wear. If you love Brazilian-inspired sweet fragrances, this is one of the best body mists on the market. Whether you wear it solo or layered with the Bum Bum Cream, it’s a beach holiday in a bottle and who doesn't want that. I do recommend adding the body cream to your basket too.

Where can you buy this

I bought mine in Sephora, but Sol de Janeiro is stocked in many places from Amazon to Space NK to Boots.
