Well, I am not sure I have seen a more hyped product than the Drunk Elephant D-bronzi bronzing drops. I mean I am not sure if Drunk Elephant has the best Pr team in the world or if this is the wonder product of the century.
You know I am a marketer's dream and with all the hype of a face like sunshine in a bottle I was hooked in. I love a sunskissed skin look and I am all about any product I can wear instead of a foundation for a hint of something whilst still looking natural. So It was time to grab some viral bronzing drops and put them to the test. They have so many claims from boosting skin’s defences against pollution to unparalleled bronzing to a concentrated mix of protective antioxidants with all the benefits of a good skincare product.
I have a combination skin that tans really easily and it will hold a natural tan for a long time. I like a sun-kissed glow type of skin and I am on the more yellow range of skin tone.
So here is my honest review of the most viral product on the planet of skincare / make-up hybrid.

Application and Usage
How Do You Apply D-Bronzi Sunshine Drops?
The beauty of these Drunk Elephant bronzing drops is that they’re super versatile:
-
Mix with moisturiser or serum for an all-over glow.
-
Blend with foundation to warm up your complexion.
-
Dab onto high points of the face (cheekbones, forehead, nose) for a bronzy glow.
The first time I popped this one on the back of my hand I was a little worried about how this bright brown pigmented bronzing drop would blend into my skin but don't worry if like me you weren't prepared for a very bright and pigmented drop. It blends so easily.
So I start by applying one drop into my Embryolisse lait-crème concentré moisturiser and I start from there. I find one drop goes a long way but you can build up your coverage by starting by adding a little at a time. The drunk elephant d bronzi drops have a big pigmentation payoff.
I use my fingers for application. This gives a lovely healthy glowy skin finish. Like you have just stepped off the plane from the beach holiday of a lifetime. Remember to add sunscreen to your routine too.
Best Methods for a Natural Look
-
Less is more – Start with one or two drops and build up.
-
Mix well – Helps avoid streaks or patchiness.
-
Apply evenly – Blend with fingers, brush, or sponge for a seamless finish.
- Shake the bottle well - This helps the product mix for application.

-
Leaves skin smooth and hydrated, thanks to the moisturising ingredients.

What I think of the Viral Drunk Elephant D-bronzi Drops
Ok, I wanted to really put drunk elephant's d-bronzi through its paces. It is on the more expensive side for bronzing drops but it is crammed packed with skincare ingredients and it instantly tans the skin and let's face it I will spend extra on products I like anyway. I mean my favourite foundation is the Chanel Aqua.
From the first use of this product, I really like it. It is easy to apply. I mix it with either my moisturiser if it's a more natural day or a good primer. I normally use one to two drops and use my fingers to apply to the skin.
If I am going out I use this under my foundation up to three drops to cover my neck etc too. I add a good concealer and shimmery highlighter do my eye and boom I am ready to head out out.
This bronzer is so easy to use. I was worried about the application when you watch people on TikTok use their fingers you never see their hands after. I didn't want stained hands but as long as you wash your hands after this is not an issue.
I was also worried this would cling to any dry patches or wrinkles that I have but it just doesn't it sits really well on the skin. I have to mention if I am using strong active skincare I get a little sensitivity when I use these. But it is only a little bit and my skin settles right down after a few moments. These give me a healthy skin look delivered with a bronzy finish.
The drops give you a nice tan without the damage to your skin.
-
Loves: “Gives my skin a healthy glow without looking fake.”
-
Concerns: “It’s expensive for the amount you get.”
-
Different Skin Types:
-
Dry skin: Loves the hydration.
-
Oily skin: May feel slightly heavy.
-
Sensitive skin: No irritation reported.
-
Is It Worth the Investment?
Factors to Consider Before Purchasing
-
If you want a natural glow with skincare benefits – YES.
-
If you have oily or acne-prone skin – Might not be the best choice.
-
If you prefer a budget-friendly alternative – There are cheaper options out there.
Would I Recommend this bronzi drops?
Personally, yes but only if it fits your skincare needs and budget! I love the way it makes my skin look, but I wouldn’t call it a must-have if you already own a good bronzing product. But for me the skin glow is next level, I will be repurchasing as I really do like them but maybe I need to try some others to compare.
