 Let’s talk about the Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum Cream, one of the most iconic and talked-about products in the beauty world. Everyone who is anyone raves about this product and As someone who loves indulgent skincare with a touch of luxury, I was super excited to try this cream that seems to be on everyone's wish list. But I have to admit it took me a while to actually buy the covered brazilian bum bum cream. But with its vibrant packaging and its enticing reputation, I popped it in my basket and ordered it. I love vanilla woods smells anything sweet to be honest so I had to try this for myself didn't i? 

I had high hopes for this product will it replace my favourite body lotion? I have purchased the mini version to test it out but will I be stumping up the cash for the bigger version soon? 

 Here's my honest review after giving it a thorough test.

I Massage the cream into my skin using circular motions to help improve absorption and boost circulation. Focus on areas like thighs, arms, and your bum for the firming benefits. I do this after a shower when my skin in clean and it adsorbs really well. But it does take some rubbing in. 

What Does it Feel Like on the Skin?

The texture is rich but not greasy.  Which is amazing I hate feeling greasy after moisturising. It melts into the skin beautifully, leaving it feeling silky and nourished and smelling like a dream. 

How Quickly Does it Absorb?

It absorbs surprisingly fast for a body butter, which means you don’t have to wait around before getting dressed and you are not sticky at all.

What are the Main Benefits?

Does it Actually Firm and Tighten the Skin?

While it won’t replace a workout of course it is not meant to it's designed specifically for firming, It does give the skin a temporary light tightening effect thanks to the guaraná extract.

How Long Does the Scent Last?

The fragrance lingers on the skin for hours, which makes it almost like wearing a subtle perfume and when I say hours I mean hours. I can even smell it on my bed sheets for days.  I have also had so many compliments when I have this on.

Is the Scent Too Overpowering?

While it’s strong initially, it mellows out. If you’re a fan of gourmand scents, you’ll love it.

Price and Value

Is it Worth the Price?

At £44 for 240ml, it’s not cheap, but the luxurious feel and long-lasting scent make it worth the splurge for many. I got my mini for £21.00 but I would recommend waiting for a sale or looking for a code.

Compared to other high-end body creams, it stands out for its unique fragrance and the silky, non-greasy texture. 

Are There Any Budget-Friendly Alternatives?

Home bargains sol de janeiro cheirosa body butter is often cited as a dupe for the Bum Bum Cream, but it doesn’t quite capture the same scent complexity or feel as hydrating this is the only dupe I have try so far. But I don't think it is anywhere near worth the money compared to the sol de janeiro brand.

With thousands of glowing reviews and an average rating of 4.5 stars on Sephora, it’s clear that this cream is a fan favourite. You can't go on TikTok without seeing reviews of the sol de janeiro's products. It's like summer in a tub they all say. They are all massive fans of Sol de janeiro. 

The products get great reviews and are cruelty free too so they are definalty well reviewed but you know I take that with a pinch of salt and like to really put products to the test for you.

Is Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum Cream Worth Trying?

Absolutely! If you’re looking for a luxurious body cream that doubles as a light fragrance, this is worth the hype But it is very pricey for a body cream,

Who Would Benefit Most from Using it?

Anyone who loves the scents, wants smoother and more hydrated skin, or just enjoys a touch of indulgence in their skincare routine. Anyone who wants hydrated looking skin and an added bonus of not needing a perfume mist. 

Final Thoughts and Recommendations

I can see why so many people swear by the Sol de Janeiro Cream. From its luscious scent to its nourishing formula, it’s a true treat for the senses. I do really like it but the price point is very high for what it is.  I have used the bum bum cream for a couple months now.

Would I repurchase it yes I would. But I do get that it is a treat product. But it is one I really love and I can tell a difference to my skin when I use it so I would recommend it. A little goes along way. I mean a long way. I can get a 50p size amount to do my legs. It is very rich but it spreads a long way plus its like a body perfume. 

Next I want to try more from the brand maybe the cheirosa 62 perfume or the sol de janeiro's body wash or the sol de janeiro cheirosa 59 or 59 perfume mist? I love doing perfume reviews. 

It is fair to say 2024 was the year for this brand to sky rocket even further and I think there are bigger things to hit the market from them in 2025. This is a hair and body brand to watch. I will watch this space and get on to more reviews for you. I want to tell you what is worth your hard earned money and what isn't.
