The Beatles are the most famous band in history and continue to have a huge fanbase around the world to this day. You’ll find Beatles-related attractions throughout the UK - but just what are the top attractions for Beatlemaniacs? This post delves into five fabulous UK attractions for those who love the Fab Four.
Beatles Story Museum, Liverpool
Being the birthplace of The Beatles, it’s no surprise that Liverpool has many attractions dedicated to this band. A top attraction is
The Beatles Story Museum in Royal Albert Dock, which takes visitors through a complete history of the band via an array of fascinating exhibits. This museum contains immersive recreations of famous Beatles locations such as The Cavern Club and Abbey Road Studios, as well as containing various memorabilia belonging to the band. It’s worth noting that it’s not the only museum dedicated to The Beatles in Liverpool - The Liverpool Beatles Museum contains an array of Beatles related artefacts that avid fans may also enjoy exploring.
Magical Mystery Tour, Liverpool
Want to see the real life locations behind songs such as Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields? The Magical Mystery Tour is a guided 2 hour tour through Liverpool that takes you to these locations, as well as stopping at the childhood homes of all the individual members to see where each of them was raised. It ends at the legendary Cavern Club, where the Beatles played some of their first gigs - the tour includes free entry and a 15% discount on food.
London Beatles Store, London
Next we head to London. If you’re looking to buy all kinds of unusual Beatles souvenirs, start with the London Beatles Store on Baker Street. This shop has all kinds of Beatles-related merchandise for sale including an array of 1960s original Beatles’ collectibles. This area has many fascinating cultural attractions to check out beyond the Beatles Store including the Sherlock Holmes Museum and Madame Tussauds - pay for
luggage storage in Marylebone and explore the area hands-free.
Abbey Road Studios, London
Abbey Road Studios is an iconic location that many Beatles fans want to visit. Unfortunately, this is a working studio, so it’s not open to the public - however there are some select dates when tours and events are hosted here. Of course, you can still take pictures from the outside, plus you can visit the famous zebra crossing from the Abbey Road album cover (try to avoid visiting at rush hour if you want to take a picture posed on the crossing so as to not hold up traffic).
Apple Corps Building, London
On 3 Savile Row, you’ll find the Apple Corps Building where The Beatles performed their famous rooftop performance (their last live performance!) in January 1969. This event has been memorialised via a plaque on the front of the building. You can’t get up to the roof, but many people still like to visit the house and take pictures from the outside. It’s one of many notable historical
attractions in and around Savile Row.
