CeraVe Moisturizing Cream Review: The Ultimate Hydration for All Skin Types

I have been using this product for years. I have no idea why I haven't told you all about it. If I am talking to any of my friends about affordable skincare this is the first product out of my mouth. I have combination skin. I get dry paths oily t-zone and at the moment some awful spots. I honestly do not know what is going on with my skin. It feels like getting my skin back to where it was, this is a journey. I have tested numerous high-end moisturisers and  I am in a very good place to talk about this one. I love it so much that it is on my subscriptions. But today let me tell you why.

CeraVe Moisturizing Cream

Introducing CeraVe Moisturising Cream

It is designed to cater to dry skin, providing intense hydration for both the face and body. This features three essential ceramides that help restore the skin and keep your skin feeling nourished.

Enriched with hyaluronic acid and moisturising ingredients, this body cream effectively hydrates dry patches and is suitable for various skin conditions like eczema and acne. Dermatologists recommend using CeraVe products for their gentle, effective formulas. Now I am not one to gate keep but I feel like with this oen I have been. I used this as my face moisturiser.

This cream ensures your skin stays supple and healthy. For those with normal to dry skin, the CeraVe lotion can be a great addition to your skincare products.

What Makes CeraVe Moisturising Cream Stand Out?

This is one of the standout products for maintaining healthy skin, thanks to its unique formula that combines essential moisturising ingredients throughout the day. It features ceramide NP, ceramide AP, and ceramide EOP, which are crucial for repairing a compromised skin barrier. This is a richer formulat so you need to bear that in mind.

This cream is especially effective for dry skin on the face and oily skin, as it adds moisture without leaving a skin feeling sticky residue. The inclusion of cetearyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol, and behentrimonium methosulfate ensures that the skin is still soft and smooth, while sodium lauroyl lactylate and potassium phosphate help maintain moisture balance.

When you use the cream on damp skin, it locks in ingredients, making your skin soft and supple. This body lotion is ideal for both face or body, I appreciate its ability to keep the skin nourished and healthy.

Why do we need these Ceramides?

These are essential for maintaining healthy skin. They help to:

  • Lock in moisture: Preventing water loss and keeping skin hydrated.
  • Protect against environmental stressors: Like pollution and harsh weather.
  • Repair damaged skin: Rebuilding the skin's natural protective layer.
  • Reduce dryness and irritation: Making skin smoother and more resilient.
  • thick cream of CeraVe Moisturizing Cream

This moisturising cream features like xanthan gum and ceramides which work wonders. Plus, it's perfect for both body and face use, leaving your skin feeling so soft. I normally only use this on my body if I run out of my normal body cream.

This is a thick cream which is great for anyone struggling with skin concerns. I have known friends with acene who use this and friends with sore skin. After I have told them about my results. The steady stream of moisturising ingredients makes me hydrated and feeling amazing!  as soon as i seen the great review about this product and that they say it leaves your skin with a healthy skin barrier I knew I had to give it a shot!

For sensitive skin types, this face cream will be your new best friend. Benefits of Using CeraVe Cream

If you're looking for a solid and affordable moisturiser, this cream is worth the spend.  It’s perfect for skin in need of moisture, and your this proves that skin doesn’t need anything fancy to feel good. Plus, the moisturising lotion comes in handy as a hand cream too! Honest this is the best multi use product I own.

Seriously, this stuff actually works. You can use on your face without breaking out. My original review was all about how moisturising and nourishing it feels. But ti has so many other benefits too.

Can CeraVe Moisturiser Help with Dry or Sensitive Skin?

So, if you're dealing with dry or compromised skin, it is definitely worth a try. This rich cream would lock in moisture and soothe any irritation. I know if I am suffering from dry feeling skin after spending all day outside in winter this really helps to supercharge the skin and stop the sore feeling of irritation.  Plus, it’s super gentle too perfect for all skin types.

Is CeraVe Moisturising Cream Suitable for Oily or Acne-Prone Skin?

So, is this Cream good for oily or acne-prone skin?  I know what you are thinking I have said it is a thick cream so how can it work for oil skin. My T zone can be like an oil slick at times. But It’s lightweight and non-comedogenic, which means it won’t clog your pores. Plus, it’s got those nutrients to keep your the barrier happy. I wish I know how this works for so many skintypes but it just does

Why is a barrier-restoring cream important in my skincare routine?

Barrier-restoring cream is essential in my skincare routine to protect the skin barrier, especially for those with dry to very dry skin. I use the Cerave daily to keep my skin moisturised and supple, thanks to its essential ceramides and hyaluronic acid. I spend a good amount of time outdoors as a mountain biker and my skin barrier is easily damaged.

I consistently recommend Cerave products, including the Cerave hydrating cleanser and eye cream, as they hydrate the skin and restore its natural barrier. I’ve noticed that using it on my face has made my skin less prone to dryness and irritation, even my friends with acne prone skin say the same

For really dry areas, I opt for this instead of any other cream. It’s suitable for dry to very dry skin and effectively protects the skin barrier while keeping my dry hands feeling soft and nourished. It really is a win win cream.

What’s the difference between the Moisturising Cream and the Daily Moisturising Lotion?

CeraVe Moisturising Cream is formulated to provide intense skin nourishment, making it ideal for dry and sensitive skin types. This cream helps restore the skin's natural barrier by deeply penetrating the layer of the skin.

In contrast, CeraVe Daily Moisturising Lotion is a lighter option, suitable for daily use if you like a lighter option. I recommend CeraVe moisturising lotion for its quick absorption and non-greasy feel, which leaves the skin feeling fresh without heaviness.

Application and Usage Tips

How Should You Apply this Moisturising Cream for Best Results?

Applying the moisturising cream is super easy.  I just wash my face with my Cerave cleanser then get a bit out and warm it up in my hands. massage it on my skin, focusing on dry spots. I tend to use this at night but if I am feeling particularly dry or irritated I will use in the morning.

Can You Layer CeraVe Cream with Other Products?

Absolutely, you can totally layer this Moisturiser with other products! Just make sure to give it a second to soak in before putting on anything else.  But this will depend on your routine of course. I used mine after my botox in a bottle combo. This gives me the right level of hydration.

Can You Layer this Moisturising Cream with Make Up?

Totally, you can layer it with your makeup! Just use this before your primer and you’ll be good to go. It’s super hydrating. Just give it a few minutes to soak in, then apply your fave foundation!

Are There Any Common Complaints About This Product?

Some folks seem to be complaining about the texture; they find it a bit too greasy but I completely disagree with this the texture is nice and rich and it absorbs well this is the only complaint I have heard.

Price and Availability

They’re usually pretty easy to find at most stores or online. Price-wise, they’re super reasonable, so you won't break the bank. Just keep an eye out for sales; I get mine on Amazon on save and subscribe at £8.62 and this is the 177ml bottle and I have it on repeat every 3 months.

Final Thoughts: Is CeraVe Moisturising Cream Worth It?

So, is It really worth it? Honestly, I have never recommend a product to so many people in real life than this.  It’s super hydrating and perfect for anyone, it's cerave baby so you know they know what they are doing.

Plus, it’s got that nice, non-greasy feel that just works. Definitely worth a shot if you’re looking for something reliable! It is so affordable. The mouistring cream arena is over saturated at the moment and we are all being guided to high end product that I really wanted to recommend. You do not need to break the bank for a really good preforming moisturiser. You dont have to look too far or spend a fortune to hydrate your skin give this ago you will love it. In this economy every little saving helps and I am all about sharing the best products with you regardless if they are budget friendly or not and this one is definitely a purse friendly buy.
