Breathtaking beaches, captivating cities, wonderful wildlife and colourful cultures make the Caribbean islands some of the most sought-after tourist destinations in the world.

The Bahamas
With its iconic white sand beaches and crystal-clear waters, the Bahamas is one of the major stops on Caribbean cruises exploring the eastern and southern regions.

Its coastline has many treasures including private islands where you can swim with dolphins, explore important marine habitats and seek thrills at water parks. Most mesmerising is the Pink Sands Beach of Harbour Island, northeast of the capital Nassau.

Colour also distinguishes the capital city’s streets. As you wander, you’ll pass vibrant murals depicting the country’s culture, pastel-painted colonial-style buildings and the bright fruit and vegetables overflowing the food market stalls.

Jamaica
Blessed with a lush mountainous interior and azure coastline comprised of coves, Jamaica’s natural beauty is unparalleled, and wildlife thrives here – in the rainforests and along the shoreline.

It's an ideal destination for outdoor adventure. Head to Negril or the protected Montego Bay Marine Park to explore coral reefs visited by sea turtles and manatees.

Hike the Blue Mountains, or trek along the rushing Dunn’s River Falls and raft back to the bottom. Roam the rich rainforests which are a refuge for an array of exotic birds and butterflies, among others.

The capital Kingston is an exciting contrast, buzzing with dance halls and restaurants serving traditional food and drinks. One of the best things to do in Jamaica is to visit the Bob Marley Museum in Kingston which recounts the country’s reggae legacy.

Barbados

Celebrate Caribbean culture in all its glory in Barbados, a tiny destination packing a big punch. It’s well-known for colourful festivals held throughout the year, primarily the traditional Crop Over, an extravaganza of processions, music and dance held between June and August to mark the summer harvest.

There is a diversity of things to do during your visit. Explore British colonial heritage at Bridgetown, the country’s busy port capital which boasts a 17th-century garrison. Just north of here is a natural wonder: Harrison’s cave, a network of crystalised stalactites and cascading waterfalls.

On the eastern coastline is Bathsheba Beach, a prime surfing spot from November to May with waves to suit experienced surfers. Sheltered coves offer opportunities for safe swimming, or you can relax on the sand and soak up the peace of this quieter side of the island.

Dominican Republic
Diverse landscapes are the highlight of the Dominican Republic, the Caribbean’s second-largest territory after Cuba. Inland are mangrove lagoons and high mountain peaks with gushing waterfalls, while the coastline ranges from golden coves to wide white-sand beaches.

Head to the island’s eastern edge to experience the indulgent beach resorts along the La Costa del Coco (the Coconut Coast) and the wealth of water sports which range from windsurfing and kayaking to sailing.

Golfing is also excellent in this area, with a choice of courses offering the VIP experience. Children will love the exhilarating ziplines and aerial adventure courses through the treetops.
