Lighthouse Clothing Haul: A Cosy, Autumnal Clothing Review

The weather here in the Scottish Highland has been awful. I have never known a summer to be like this ever. We have fast-forwarded to autumn and missed any dry weather. With that, I have needed to up my wardrobe game and invest in some better autumnal clothing. Just to put it in perspective I am looking out the window to wind gusting to 50mph and 5mm of rainfall. So I am ready to call it quits and get ready for autumn winter.

Today I'm sharing my thoughts on some autumnal clothing I have picked up from Lighthouse.  I am trying out the Outback Full Length Waterproof Raincoat in Plum, the Lydia Dress in Cloud Midnight Stripe, the Ashby Waterproof Fleece in Berry, and the Laurel Gilet in Mocha. Spoiler alert, these pieces are all about combining practicality with style whilst taking the British weather into account and I’m here for it! So, grab a cuppa and let’s talk fashion.

Handy info: I am a UK size 6 Just so you can gauge the sizing.

Outback Full Length Waterproof Raincoat - Plum

First up, we have the Outback Full Length Waterproof Raincoat in Plum size 6. If you live in the UK, you know a good raincoat is a must, and this one is truly a game-changer. The rich plum colour is simply gorgeous. I have wanted a jacket in this colour for so long.  It's an eye-catching yet sophisticated design, perfect for adding a pop of colour on a dreary day. They had me with the tartan lining if I am honest.

The coat is made from a highly waterproof material, and let me tell you, it really holds up in the rain. I took it out for a spin on a particularly wet and windy day (A hoolie if you are Scottish) and I stayed dry and cosy the entire time. The length is fantastic too. I am 5ft 6 if that helps. You really get full coverage without feeling restricted.

One of my favourite features is the pockets are really deep meaning you can carrier everything you need. Plus a zip-inside pocket.  Plus, the detachable hood is spacious without being bulky,  It’s clear that Lighthouse has thought of everything with this design. This is the perfect winter dog walking coat. I can see myself wearing this all autumn and winter think long dog walks to cosy pub lunches.

Lydia Dress - Cloud Midnight Stripe

Next, the Lydia Dress in Cloud Midnight Stripe size 8. This dress is an absolute dream.  It’s the perfect blend of casual and chic, making it incredibly versatile. The Cloud Midnight Stripe pattern is subtle yet stylish, giving it a timeless nautical feel. This is the perfect throw-on dress.

The fabric is a soft cotton jersey, which feels amazing against the skin. It’s breathable and lightweight, making it ideal for those. transitional weather days. I love the relaxed fit, it’s comfy enough for lounging around at home, yet polished enough to wear out and about for a lunch date.

The dress has a lovely drape that flatters all body types. Pair it with some ankle boots and a statement necklace for a casual day out, Or throw it over your, bikini for a beach day. It’s one of those pieces you’ll reach for time and time again. Comfy and easy to wear.

Ashby Waterproof Fleece - Berry

Now, onto the Ashby Waterproof Fleece in Berry size 8. This is one of those pieces that every wardrobe needs. It’s a fantastic layering option that combines warmth with waterproof protection. Basically, it’s the best of both worlds!

The berry colour is rich and vibrant, and very me, it adds a nice burst of colour to any outfit. The fleece lining is super soft and cosy, perfect for those chilly mornings when you need an extra layer of warmth or just anytime in the highlands at the moment. I am wearing this writing this post.

What really sets this fleece apart, though, is the waterproof outer layer. I’ve worn it in light rain, and it held up beautifully, keeping me dry and comfortable. Which I have never had in a fleece before. Game changer.

The fit is slightly tailored, so it doesn’t feel bulky, and the zipped pockets are a nice touch for keeping your hands warm or storing small items. Whether you’re heading out for a walk in the countryside or just running errands in town, this fleece is a reliable choice that doesn’t sacrifice style for function.

Laurel Gilet - Mocha

Last but certainly not least is the Laurel Gilet in Mocha size 8. I am absolutely in love with this! Gilets are such a versatile addition to any wardrobe, and this one from Lighthouse Clothing is no exception I already have this in another colour and I love it.

The mocha colour is a lovely neutral that pairs well with just about anything. The fit is flattering with a slight cinch at the waist, and the padded design adds a nice layer of warmth without feeling too heavy. It’s perfect for those days when it’s too warm for a coat but too cool to go without a layer. Plus it is super easy to pack away if you are dog walking or hiking.

The gilet features a high collar that provides extra warmth and protection against the wind which is needed in the UK the zipped pockets are a lifesaver for keeping your phone, keys, or hands toasty. I’ve found myself reaching for this gilet more often than I expected. It’s perfect for layering over a jumper or long-sleeved tee when you’re out for a walk or popping to the shops. It's just a really handy veritable item.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I am really impressed with these pieces from Lighthouse. Each item is well-made, stylish, and incredibly practical, making them perfect for the unpredictable British weather. Whether you’re looking for a reliable raincoat, a versatile dress, a cosy fleece, or a stylish gilet, Lighthouse has you covered.

What I love most about this brand is its attention to detail.  It’s clear that each piece has been thoughtfully designed with the wearer in mind. The fabrics are high quality, the fits are flattering, and the colours are beautiful. I can honestly say that these items have quickly become staples in my wardrobe.

So, if you’re on the hunt for some new outdoor gear that doesn’t compromise on style, I highly recommend checking out Lighthouse. Whether you’re braving the elements or just want to add some cosy pieces to your collection, you won’t be disappointed! I am in love with all of these.
