Weekly round up with #PROJECT365 15TH -21TH JANUARY

What a week of weather we have had everything from heavy snow to a hoolie or storm. I sometimes need to remember I use many highland words and never explain them. A hoolie is a storm. I love being part of the Project Blogger series what a nice way to share what I have been up to this week and also learn more about some other bloggers. If you want to read about them there is a link at the bottom of this post.

So let's get into my week, shall we?

Monday

Well, this was someday the snow was very heavy and we had to go to Fort William. I had mountain biking photos I had to shoot and there was no getting around it as this was my husband's only day off. We headed though it was -6 and there was no sign of a gritter. Being a highlander we are both very used to driving in snow so it was ok but we could see a lot of people who really shouldn't have been on the road they ever all over the place. Driving in snow is so different and it is a completely different set of skills.

The west coast of Scotland in the snow is a very special place. I love it. I know I should say that but I do feel blessed to live here. It took the whole day to get the shots we needed and we had to get shopping and head home.

Tuesday

Was a bit more of a rest day I wasn't feeling well on the new meds and I had to take it easy. Playing with the dogs in the snow was the big highlight. My dog loves the snow especially Millie the springador. I do wonder in her past life if she was part polar bear.

Wednesday

It was time to try a new type of medication and I am not looking forward to these at all. But this is going to be trial and error. Not an eventual day at all worked and played with the dogs and did 51.5 miles on the bike as I wasn't sure how well I would be on these meds so wanted to get some training in this week.

Thursday,

I managed to do another 30 miles on the bike even though I felt really poorly. I just wanted to do something as I find cycling really good when I get a bit in my head about things.

Friday.

We were all set to head back to Fort William as we had to collect mylos medication but like all best-laid plans, this didn't happen as the pager went off and my husband had to go on the lifeboat. It turned out to be a long shout and I went down to meet the crew on their return to the harbour. I do the press for our lifeboat.

Saturday.

We went to for William and met some of our lovely friends and went for a dog walk. The dog just adores their little boys. They are just cool kids. so a nice walk then we headed into town for some lunch. We went to a cafe we had been to before and it was not good. I am not sure if it was because it was Saturday but there was no effort at all. we collected Mylos meds and got some shopping and it was home to watch gladiators.

Sunday.

I might as well write this was a right-off. I was so poorly besides a quick 25 miles on the bike I was lying down all day. These tablets are really not working for me so off to the doctor tomorrow.

This one is very short and sweet but as I write this I am not feeling my best But wanted to get it up.

  1. I have heard the word hoolie before and knew what it meant. The weather has been terrible. I am so over winter already.
You are brave going out in the snow to get the photos that you needed. We only had a few flakes here early last week.
I hope you find some medication which agrees with you. x

  2. I can imagine you must get used to driving in snow up in the Highlands. It does look pretty with all the snow you’ve had. Sorry that you are still feeling so poorly with the meds. Hope that you get them sorted out and feel better soon. #project365

  3. Cycling in the snow does sound hard. I knew what a hoolie was, my Canadian friends uses it. The dog walking with friends in the snow and through that scenery sounds idylic

  4. I really hope you get your medication sorted soon, sounds like you’re having a really rough time at the moment. However, you do live in a beautiful part of the world and it looks like you’re definitely making the most of that!

  5. I am so jealous of your snow, I am about as far south as you can go, so it's very very rare here
