Its question time
1) How are you feeling/coping?
So far this week has been a bit bla. I don't know how else to put it. I am getting to the stage where I am accepting the new normal and desperately missing the old normal. I miss my friends dearly. I am missing what I used to do. I miss coffee and cake. I miss not looking at every car in our super remote area and instantly thinking virus spreader. I miss planning trips for holidays, trips to see friends. I miss being able to nip to the shop for butter. I also miss a time where blogging work was not so hard to come by. This has been a huge concern for all of us in the blogging world. I mentally and up and down. Sometimes I am super positive it's only a year at most this will change real plans. but right now a year feel like a lifetime.I have family in Devon, who are in that age group that they will need to quarantine longer and the real prospect of not seeing them for a very long time is a big one. Let alone our friends in the lakes. I don't even know when we will see our friends who live nearby. In the highland, we are used to the winters being long but this is turning in to game of thrones long. The long night.
2) What are you doing to keep yourself occupied?
As with every week its fitness. I am zwifting most days I am trying to do more stretching. I am working on the boring admin side of blogging and like every one of us watches more Netflix than my eyes can handle. I will come out of lockdown the fittest I have ever been. I have some wonderful blogger friends who are really pulling me through this all. you know who you are and thank you it is super appreciated.3) How are you dealing with everything at the moment – are you self-isolated, going out for essentials etc? Has this changed?
Again the same as last week, we do our weekly shop in the supermarket. Hubby is a police officer so this week we are on weekday backshift and weekend day shifts. The dogs are being walked or taken to the loch one our once a day outside exercise. Thank god we live here in the highland. I have really realised how remote we are until this all happened. But thank goodness we are. We still have no case here. but Skye has had a terrible outbreak and I feel so bad for them. Don't get me twisted I feel bad for everyone that has been affected but I am from a small community and I know the pain this will cause.4) What advice do you have for others?
Stay home, this is not the time to come to our rural community to have BBQ on the beach. I promise you us highlanders will welcome you back with big open arms but just now same our poor doctor. Yes, one doctor from having to deal with an outbreak in our remote rural community.5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from a small business.
So my lovely friend Sarah and I love to enter competitions and tag each other. Sarah one a comp for me and her to receive some amazing tea from Silver lantern tea. We were allowed to choose our tea. I choose Darjeeling My husbands favourite. I know I am the best wife ha. Anyways my husband said it was the best tea he has ever had in his whole life. So he ran out very quickly. As a surprise, I bought him the biggest bag of it. This was by far the most expensive tea I have bought that is not part of a cream tea. But I am told no other tea will ever compare to this tea.I have also continued our bakery delivery and we are going to have a Thai from the takeaway here. Just to tell you the Thai is run from a ladies house and it is to die for. It's called sunset Morar if you ever come this way. It is very expensive but worth it. We are trying to do something like this for all the business we can in the local area.
6) How has your routine been this week? (Question by Don't Cramp My Style )
Hubby on backshift 2-12 and then weekend day shift. As I have explained I follow his shift pattern it works for us.
7) Have you planned anything for once lockdown is over the past 7 days? (Question by Don't Cramp My Style )
We have planned to take a trip to see our besties in the lakes when we can. I also would like to ride the new bike I have.If like me you are looking to get back into reading books you need to go check out my friend's Rebecca new site. You will love it.
I hope you have enjoyed this week's Linky
It's strange as we live on a main road in / out of the village we've seen little reduction in traffic, it's still pretty busy with pedestrians as well. In some ways it makes it an even stranger world to look out on as everything seems "normal".
ReplyDeleteThanks once again for linking up and the many chats this week! That tea sounds lush!
ReplyDeleteI think we hit a hard patch last week too. I just want to go get coffee and a hair cut and not worry about what plague I might get or what I might give to someone.
ReplyDeleteWe are in a suburban London area that has been very quiet since lockdown, but is getting busier this week now Boris has said we can ease a few things.
I heard Skye had a lot of cases, that's not great. :( Hope you had an ok week this week
