I was reading the below infographic by Rainbow chalk about fun crafts you can do with your family this Christmas. There are so many great ideas. Check them out below. Anyway, this got me thinking about fun and cheap crafts that I do. I thought it would be fun to share a couple of them with you.
Vision boards
One of my favourite thing to do during the festive season is to make a vision board for the year ahead. This is such an easy and fun thing to do. I set out the table with big sheets of cardboard. You can use some of the never-ending boxes you will have delivered at this time of year.
Then I set out the following
The cardboard
Paint
Paintbrushes
glitter
glue
pens
crayons
Magazines
Then I gather everyone together and we all make a vision board for the year. This can be about anything. School, travel, work. You can choose what you want to put on your board. It is yours. It is so important to teach goals and dreams to young ones.
Next up,
Christmas table centrepiece.
The Christmas table centrepiece. This is one of my favourites. This involves a bit of an adventure.
First, we use out the chalkboard and chalkboard pens to make a list of things we think we could use to make a centrepiece. I try to make everyone pick two items.
Examples of what we have used in previous years.
Driftwood
Holly
Bracken
Rope from the beach.
Shells.
Flowers
Pine tree branches.
Then we go on a family walk and see what we can find to make our festive centrepiece. You can be as adventurous as you like. I love how unquiet this can make your table. Plus it is so much nicer than buying something as the little ones have actually helped to find and arrange this centrepiece.
When we get home we all decide if we need to do any painting or adding glitter and arrange the items. Yes, we have had some weird and wonderful centrepieces but that's the fun right.
Here is the infographic that sparked this post. I hope you find some fun and creative thing to do with your family this festive season.
