The warmer months are possibly the most exciting part of the year. It’s a time where you’re out the most, arranging activities, seeing friends and making memories! And since you’re going to be out doing things often, you will want to ensure you look your best and have your summer look perfected. Here are just a few things you could consider.
Tan
Summertime is all about rocking that gorgeous bronzed goddess glow. But we all know that baking in the sun or hitting the sunbeds is incredibly damaging. For this reason, fake tan is definitely your friend. Give your body a thorough exfoliation and moisturise to prep your skin, and then apply with a tanning mitt to avoid the beauty cardinal sin- fake than hands! You might need to experiment with different tans, find one that works best for you. You might find you get along with different formulations (mousse, cream, spray) better than others
Teeth
Nothing looks more stunning with a tan than a set of pearly white teeth! A beautiful smile is the perfect accessory all year round, but in the summer when you want to look your best it’s especially nice. You could visit the dentist for whitening trays or laser teeth whitening, although these can be somewhat pricey. There are a number of products you can use at home which can really bring up the colour of your teeth and remove surface stains so are well worth a try. You could visit Teeth Whitening at Home Tips for more information about the best products to use.
Makeup
Over the warmest months you will want to keep your makeup quite light, but that certainly doesn’t mean you have to skip applying it! Instead of a heavy foundation, you could choose a mineral powder or a BB cream to give you some coverage without clogging pores. A cream blush will give you a dewy glow to your skin, and bring some colour to your face. Neutral smokey eyes using bronzes, golds, browns and taupes look fantastic with a tan over the summer months, finish the look with a nude gloss or lipstick to keep it looking fresh and pretty without being overdone.
Outfits
If you live in a part of the world where it is only warm for a couple of months of the year, chances are you don’t want to invest in a huge summer wardrobe. For this reason, it’s a good idea to create a ‘capsule wardrobe’. Here you buy a couple of staple pieces- dresses, shorts, jeans and tops- and ensure that each piece works together and can be worn together. If you stick with neutral colours, you will find this easy to do. For shoes, whites and metallics both work well and again means they can be worn with any outfit. That way you can mix and match a few pieces and get different outfits every time, without needing to buy lots of clothes.
