How are you all?
A couple weeks back me and the hubby and our Dalmatian Mylo headed for a biking trip to Peebles.
We have stayed in the MacDonald in the area before and the Mercure. We found a cracking Dinner bed and breakfast deal from 5pm.co.uk for the Peebles Hydro. I've just checked site and they are doing black Friday deals at £49 for a double room bed and breakfast!
Me and my Hubby love biking at Glentress and I love a nice hotel so this deal was ideal for us. Here is a run down of our stay.
Look at our welcome! You had me at the strawberry but add a cheeky bottle of prosecco and I'm in heaven! they perfect welcome after hitting glentress for some shreadding.
The way to my heart is through my pups now Millie didn't come with us as she has bad hip and I like to monitor her activity. Mylo is our biking do and he lives for biking and gets so excited when the bikes come out and the treatment he got at the hydro was amazing, I book dog friendly hotels but I always worry about how they will react to the dogs but this hotel went above and beyond. Mylo was welcomed in reception and then we went to our room and he was given this welcome!
My hubby laughed at me as I almost cried. A tennis a water bowl and a wee bed and a lovely welcome card letting us know what we could and couldn't do with the pup.
Our room was so nice and had been freshly renovated. The room as huge I mean HUGE! The bathroom was so nicely decorated and they bath was so deep.
What a view from our room and a photo I took when taking mylo for a wee walk before bed
They have a gin palace and there own brewery onsite my hubby enjoyed sampling the ale.
The only issue we had was we had to wait 40 minutes to have our order taken for dinner. this was annoying but the lovely Angus ( I think this is his name) Gave us complimentary drinks and was extremely apologetic. The food was devine. I had cold soup to start and it was so zesty and fresh.
Then I had the chicken which was succulent and so tasty. Hubby had the fish and chips and he said it was amazing.
Having now stayed in most of the hotels in the area. To me I would definitely choose the Hydro out of all of them. We used the pool and it was clean and so nice. There is a Jacuzzi and steam and sauna the best way to help the muscles after a hard day on the trails. Next time I'm gonna book a spa treatment to. I didn't have time this visit but next time I defo will.
